Since they know Enguerrand’s secret, Anthelme and Colombe decide to split up, thinking they would be more efficient to fulfill their different missions. While Colombe comes to the rescue of Mathilde de la Mours that run away from her father the Viscount, Enguerrand and Anthelme follow Zorzi, a sort of puppeteer that plays tiny glass automatons. The two friends hope so that this exceptional artist will lead them straight to the Emperor’s Engineer. In fact they came to the conclusion that Colombe’s father must rot in this awful Engineer’ s prisons. And it is probably in his laboratory, that finds itself the remedy that will heal Enguerrand … before it is too late.
